Women Veterans Think Tank: Blueprint to Action

The Warrior Alliance, in partnership with the Georgia Women Veterans Advisory Board, hosted the inaugural Women Veterans Think Tank: Blueprint for Action Summit on June 11, 2026, at TK Elevator at The Battery Atlanta.

The summit brought together women veterans, corporate leaders, veteran-serving organizations, healthcare providers, and policymakers to discuss a coordinated strategy for improving outcomes for women veterans in Georgia and to create a model that can be replicated nationwide.

Nearly 93,000 women veterans live in Georgia, yet many continue to face challenges including homelessness, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), mental health concerns, barriers to benefits navigation, and limited access to gender-specific healthcare. Women veterans are nearly twice as likely to experience homelessness as civilian women, and many struggle to access the resources and support they have earned through their service.

“Women veterans are among the most resilient and accomplished people in our communities, yet they remain one of the most underserved populations we have the privilege of supporting,” stated Terrill McFarland, Vice President of Corporate & Strategic Relations, The Warrior Alliance. “We established a space for women veterans to be seen, heard, and centered in the decisions that affect their lives. From the structure of the working sessions to the voices we invited to the table, every element was designed to move us from awareness to action.”

The event included guest speaker Kai Mentzer, Executive Director of the Atlanta VA Healthcare System, which serves more than 34,000 enrolled women veterans—the largest population of women veterans served by any VA healthcare system in the nation. The summit also featured a multidisciplinary panel of experts from the military, healthcare, education, and nonprofit sectors, followed by facilitated working sessions.

The recommendations and priorities developed during the summit will be compiled into a Blueprint for Action that drives measurable outcomes for women veterans and their families.
