VETLANTA and The Warrior Alliance Collaborate to Empower Military Veterans in Greater Atlanta

Affiliation connects veteran advocacy with holistic services integration

Atlanta, GA, March 25, 2019 – The Greater Atlanta area has a veteran population of over 220,000 and the Department of Defense projects the state of Georgia to be in the top 5 states in terms of veteran’s population over the coming decade. While Atlanta maintains a significant number of world-class nonprofit and government agencies serving the needs of veterans living in our 13 counties, the challenge of connecting with the community and navigating the vast number of these services is often overwhelming.

Through these challenges, there’s great news for the Greater Atlanta area as two major Atlanta veteran organizations are collaborating to solve the problem and empower veterans, their families, and caregivers.

VETLANTA and The Warrior Alliance will officially launch their affiliation at the May 7 th , 2019 VETLANTA Super Summit at Mercedes Benz Stadium. The result of both organizations working together will strengthen Atlanta’s position as a top destination for veterans to live, work, and become leaders within their communities. Through the partnership, veterans will be able to connect and engage with Atlanta’s largest network of businesses, veteran service organizations, and community leaders.

VETLANTA is a national leader in veteran advocacy and networking, with over 2,800 individual members and organizations whose expressed objectives are to improve veteran service collaboration, enhance corporate engagement in the veteran community, remove barriers to post-military success, and empower veterans to achieve their personal and professional goals. After 5 years of successful growth, one of the most rewarding accomplishments has been facilitating opportunities for veterans to build relationships and camaraderie with their fellow service members. “The Warrior Alliance is a shining example of an organization that was founded to address specific needs for Atlanta’s veterans”, says Tyler Freeman, Chief Marketing Officer, of VETLANTA, “and we’re proud to partner with them to continue strengthening connections between organizations within the Atlanta veterans support network and the veterans and military families that call Atlanta home.”

The Warrior Alliance is Greater Atlanta’s primary community veteran integration program that provides a platform and personal attention to help Warriors and their families navigate a wide array of holistic services. Through a single-access portal, The Warrior Alliance provides hands on coordination of “best-in-class” veteran service organizations to collaborate in support of a veteran’s health and wellness, benefits, housing, education, employment, financial, volunteering, recreation, family, spiritual, and legal needs.

“The Atlanta community has the ultimate responsibility for making a commitment to invest in our veteran population,” states Scott Johnson, President and Executive Director of The Warrior Alliance. “these highly qualified men and women are the greatest underutilized assets in Atlanta. By partnering with VETLANTA, we become a force multiplier for producing more opportunity and greater outcomes for our veterans and the entire city.”
