The Marcus Foundation provides a $1.5M Grant to help veterans in Atlanta
The Warrior Alliance, an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization, has announced a $1.5 million grant from The Marcus Foundation to help launch its Greater Atlanta veteran community integration program.
The national focus on solving the challenge for Service Members moving into civilian life is at an all-time high. Yet, with over 43,000 organizations listed in the national registry for veteran services, Service Members are finding it difficult to navigate the system to get the support they need in a timely manner. To solve this problem, the grant will help fund The Warrior Alliance’s mission to drive the collaboration of local Veteran Service Organizations (VSO) to work together and use best practices to enable Warriors and their families to achieve a successful transition back into their communities.
Key to the success of the program is a connected business model where the veteran is supported by a team of Warrior Navigators, using a proven technology platform, to help assess and coordinate a network of resources specific to each individual’s needs. The program connects Atlanta VSOs to improve veteran outcomes by providing holistic services including health and wellness, benefits, housing, education, employment, finance, legal, volunteer opportunities, and recreation for veterans and their families.
